I Am Embarrassed To Admit This..

I Have A Confession To Make....

Sept 2, 2009

Greetings,

It has been a while since we last communicated. Hope you are doing very well. On my part, I am even embarrassed to share with you what I have been doing but I have no choice...

Why?

Because I want you to avoid my inexcusable mistake. An oversight which cost me hundreds of precious hours and a couple of hundred of dollars. Who knows, some of you might be going through the same challenge as myself.

Last month was the most unproductive month I have ever had since I started my online business. And I have none to blame but myself.

These were some of my daily activities: Check e-mails; try out the latest system that has never been revealed before; start watching some video training and abandon it in the middle because another catchy thing pops up; take up new offers like free books and templates and download them on my desk top... and the cycle repeated itself.....

I found that I was biting off more than I could chew. I paid for programmes and never even got a chance to look at them. I even failed to send out a newsletter to my dear subscribers!

Eventually, I realised that I was suffering from information overload. I just had a pile of uncompleted tasks lying on my desk top. I would start on a project and abandon it almost immediately.

My stress levels increased. I became frustrated and felt like a complete idiot.

In all this, I discovered a simple Secret: Information Overload = Paralysis and Loss Of Productivity. It doesn't matter what you have been taught to believe.......

, are you moving from task to task and end up finding yourself back at square one? Do you seem to be moving around in circles not knowing what to do? Are you finding it almost impossible to say no to different offers because of the way these offers are packaged? Are you blaming systems, authors and feeling betrayed by those selling you different products?

I have a solution for you :-) This is something that has always worked for me, but for some reason, I got distracted last month.

Here is what you need to do right now.

Write down your goal sheet and post it where you are able to see it every day. Write down the exact steps you need to take in order to come closer to your goal.

But most importantly, switch your mind off all the "glittering offers" and focus only on that which will help you move closer to your goal. If possible, unsubscribe from all the newsletters which are distracting you, even if it is mine :-(

You MUST always remember this critical point:

Massive action and lots of information always lead to paralysis. Most people actually end up being overwhelmed and giving up.

Through my experience, I have discovered that most people are not very skilled at massive action, me inclusive. If you are in this category, you need to choose a few tasks and concentrate on those until you have mastered them to some reasonable degree.

If you undertake one single tangible action every day, aren't you FAR better off than someone who is gathering all the information but not putting anything into action?

Remember the popular saying? "A rolling stone gathers no moss."

Here is the good news though....

The most productive months of the year are right here. Summer is almost over. Make a small list of what you need to do every single day and stick to it. All these fancy offers will always be there. Look out for things which will help you make progress towards achieving your goals.

You will be amazed at how much you can do! You will even be happier because you will be proud of yourself after completing your little tasks.

That is how I was able to launch my website in a matter of days when I first got started. I closed my mind to all other offers, even if they were free. My main focus was on mastering the basics of building a website. I knew that was what I needed to do then. I needed to create my online presence.

I was not bothered by the noise which was going on around me. And guess what? I am reaping the fruits.

I have made a new resolution. I don't want to be distracted any more.

Right now, I am concentrating on completing my info products. I have a few steps written down on what I need to do every day and the resources I need. I have closed my mind to other things until this task is complete.

, I can't emphasise the importance of goal setting and sticking to your goals no matter what. This simple technique is extremely powerful.

And this is what I would like you to do right now. Get out your pen and piece of paper. Write down your goals and the best way to achieve them. Outline the steps you need to get there and the resources you need. From now on, stop buying things which will not help you come closer to your goals.

Follow this for the next three months..... You will be amazed at what you can do.

Here are a few suggestions:

So, what next? Let’s get to work. I will let you know of my progress. I will be glad to know how you are doing.

To Your Success!
